Paula Handler, 78, of Freehold, passed away on Saturday February 24th, 2018 at Monmouth Crossing Assisted Living in Freehold. She grew up in Spring Lake, graduating from Star of the Sea Academy, Long Branch in 1957. She graduated from Marymount College, Tarrytown, NY in 1961, with a B.S. in Education. She taught in the West Freehold School for 25 years. Paula married Harry Handler on October 10, 1964 in St. Catherine’s Church in Spring Lake.
She was predeceased by her parents, sister, Irene Newman, and brothers Bruce and Peter Johnson. She is survived by her son Michael Handler of Freehold, sister in law Roberta Handler of Minnesota, several nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and great-great nieces & nephews.
There will be a graveside service for Paula on Wednesday, February 28th at 12:30 PM in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. All arrangements are being handled by Freeman Funeral Home, 47 E. Main Street, Freehold.
