Adolph Stampfel
Adolph “Al” Stampfel, 77, of Manalapan, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York City. Born in Yugoslavia, he came to New York in 1950. He served our country in the Army and lived in New York before moving to New Jersey where he and his loving wife, Joanne raised a beautiful family.
Al worked for the New York City Department of Sanitation and the 34th Street Partnership, both in New York City.
He would do anything for his family and adored his six grandchildren and loved including them in his hobbies. He enjoyed crabbing, gardening, playing cards, watching football and baseball, family gatherings, seeing the horses at local farms, and feeding birds and deer in his yard.
Al is survived by his beloved wife Joanne of 47 years. Son, Jason and daughter-in-law, Brenda; Son, Keith and daughter-in-law, Gail; Daughter, Jennifer and son-in-law, Jason; 6 grandchildren, Paige, Angela, Madelyn, Reid, Victoria, and Brielle; and his siblings Marie, Josef, Hans, and Melanie.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
