Obituary for
Marian Johanna Corliss
Marian Corliss, 94, of Freehold passed away peacefully on November 14, 2016. Born on March 7, 1922, to Howard Stillwell and Bertha Gravatt, Marian spent most of her 94 years in Freehold. She worked as a pharmacist assistant at Woods Pharmacy, then worked as a food service worker at CentraState Medical Center. Marian often said, “I’m 94 but I feel like I’m 49.” Marian enjoyed time with her sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her trips to Frankie Feds and the Cabin with her son Garry and traveling to Key West Florida to visit her son Roger. Marian enjoyed going to the hairdresser and Shoprite and singing along with the visiting Elvis impersonator, black jack nights, and parties at the Manor, her residence for the last year.
Marian was predeceased by her husband Earl Corliss in 1975. Surviving are her two sons Garry Corliss and partner Katie Hayes; Roger Corliss and wife Diane Corliss, her three grandchildren Timothy Corliss, Christopher Corliss and wife Megan and Robert Corliss and her four great-grandchildren Jack, Rachel, Liam and Owen Corliss.
Visitation will be at Freeman’s Funeral Home, 47 E Main St, Freehold NJ on Thursday, November 17 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10:30AM. Followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Freehold. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Centra State Healthcare Foundation, Manor Activity Restricted Fund, would be appreciated.
