Ernest A. Adell, 72, of Jackson Township, passed away at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital on Sunday, September 17, 2017. He was born and raised in Old Bridge and was a lifelong resident before moving to Jackson 12 years ago. He attended and graduated from Sayreville High School. Ernie retired as a Lieutenant from the Old Bridge Police Department after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Men’s Club, Golf Club and the Bocce League of the South Knolls Community in Jackson. Ernie enjoyed the annual July 4th bar-b-ques at his home and family vacations at LBI.
He was predeceased by his parents John "Andy" and Mary Adell; sister-in- law Pat Adell and brother-in-law Don Borst. Ernie is survived by Brenda, his wife of 48 years; daughter Leanne and spouse Shelly Wilson; daughter Kate and spouse Ken Blue; brother John and sister-in-law Sandie, brother Dennis; sister Andrea; sister Arlene and brother-in-law Tom McLaughlin and grandson Lucas Blue.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, September 21st from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Freemans Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home located at 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A funeral service will be held September 22nd at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan.
