Obituary for Yolanda Perrini (Molino)

Yolanda Molino Perrini November 11, 1921 to November 23, 2017
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend
Yolanda, 96, was born in Manhattan on November 11, 1921, the daughter of the late Nicola and Cristina Serignese Molino. She later moved to Brooklyn, New York and married Dominick Perrini (her husband of 70 years) on May 17, 1947. They moved to Staten Island in 1956 where they raised their four children. After Dominick retired from the NYC Fire Department, they moved to Millponds in Morganville, New Jersey and then to the Greenbriar Adult Community in Marlboro, New Jersey in 1985.
Yola began her work career as a Beautician. During World War II, she served the Home Front as a “Rosie The Riveter” at the Mergenthaler Linotype Co. where she inspected and cleaned MI gun sights. While raising her four children, Yola did volunteer work in various capacities at her children’s schools. She was an excellent seamstress and homemaker. Yola’s life was filled with many joys: visits from her family and friends; summers in Saugerties, New York; Thursday luncheons on 70th Street in Brooklyn; and New Year’s Eve celebrations in her sister Mary’s basement. She enjoyed reading, trips to Atlantic City, cruises, card games, rummy, singing in the car, travelling, and attending Greenbriar Club House events. Yola will be truly missed by her family and friends and will be in our hearts forever
Yola was predeceased by 5 loving siblings and their spouses: Mary (Joe) Lampariello, Olga (Evo) Albertelli, Esther (Sal) Raguso, Emillo (Jennie) Molino, and Gilda (Anthony) Santomauro, and her Perrini sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Yolanda’s memory will be cherished by her four children: Frank and JoAnn Perrini of Monroe Township, N.J.; Christine and Thomas Holt of Kearny, N.J.; Donald and Joanne Perrini of Atlanta, Georgia; and Lisa and Daniel Manochio of Manalapan, NJ. Her 9 Grandchildren: Frank (Lauren) Perrini and James (Jennifer) Perrini; Michael Holt (Thelma) and David (Cristina) Holt; Danielle and Joseph Perrini; Daniel, Mathew, and Samantha Manochio; 2 Great-grandchildren: Gabriella Perrini and Logan Manochio. Yola’s only living sibling Anna (Vincent) Minieri (lovingly called Anna Banana) was faithful in her daily calls singing “I Just Called to Say I Love You.” This was truly a highlight of Yola’s days. She will be missed by her many Molino and Perrini nieces and nephews as well as her Greenbriar friends.
We would like to thank all of our Mom’s caretakers from the Visiting Nurse Association Health Group of New Jersey and the extraordinary VNA/Hospice Team, who so faithfully and compassionately cared for her during her illness and final days. A special thank you to Piedad (Mom’s VNA Home Care Aide for three and a half years) and Nurses Barbara and Emily; Maryann (Hospice Case Manager/Nurse) and Rose (Hospice Home Care Aide); Chaplain Fred and Social Worker Colleen; and to Manjit (private aide). The outstanding and compassionate care given to our Mother is so deeply appreciated by her entire family. We took comfort in knowing our Mother was in such good hands.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 2-6 pm at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan, New Jersey (freemansfh@aol.com). A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, November 27th at 10 am at St. Clements Church, Matawan. Entombment will follow at St. Gabriel’s Mausoleum, Marlboro. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Visiting Nurse Association Health Group of New Jersey or the charity of your choice.
