Obituary for
Charles "Charlie Boy" Aurello
Charles (Charlie Boy) Aurello 1943-2018
Charlie was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, where he met and married his wife Jo-Ann Traina. Charlie and Jo-Ann raised their two daughters on Staten Island before settling in Manalapan, NJ to be close to their first-born grandchildren. Nothing was more important to Charlie than his family, and he never forgot the values he learned back in the neighborhood in Brooklyn.
Charlie was an avid sportsman who traveled to places across the country including Alaska, Montana, South Dakota and Kansas to bag big game prizes. Among his collection, he boasts two brown bear, as well as a black one, a moose, elk, wolf, dahl sheep, numerous deer, and the list goes on. In the off season, he could be found deep sea fishing – a blue marlin hangs upon the wall among his many hunting trophies.
The one thing he loved more than hunting and fishing was spending time with his five grandchildren – Nicholas, Louis, Christopher, Genevieve and Patrick. On many a weekend afternoon, he could be found cheering one of them on at a football, baseball, soccer or softball game.
In addition to his wife Jo-Ann and his grandchildren, Charlie is survived by his two daughters, Lucia and Gina, and their husbands, Joe Beauchamp and Pat Marzo.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan on Sunday, June 24 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. A funeral liturgy will take place on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, Millstone; followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
